The three stages shown here — Emerging, Developing and Established — are a shared language for talking about maturity. When we carry out our first-pass assessment we use a slightly more detailed five-point scale that sits around these stages, so an initial score may land between or beyond them. Any score is only ever a starting point for discussion with you, never a fixed judgement.
